Rebecca
Hello, my name is Rebecca and I'm a qualified Counsellor and Psycotherapist (MBACP)
If you're seeking support through life's challenges, you're in the right place. I am a trained professional dedicated to providing empathetic and client-led one-to-one counselling sessions. In our sessions, you can expect client-led conversations where your experiences and feelings guide our discussions. I provide empathetic support to create a safe, warm, and confidential environment for you to explore and understand your emotions.
Drawing from a robust academic foundation in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (First Class Honours, University of Worcester) and a specialised Counselling and Psychotherapy MSc (Keele University), I bring five years of dedicated academic training to my counselling practice. My hands-on experiences have been within diverse settings, including roles in youth mentoring, supporting young carers, and contributing to the mission of a domestic abuse and sexual assault charity (Woman's Aid and Sue Lambert Trust). These varied experiences have enriched my skill set, allowing me to offer a holistic and empathetic approach in my therapeutic work.
Rooted in the principles of Person-Centred Counselling, I hold a deep belief in your inherent wisdom as the compass guiding our therapeutic (client-led) journey. My approach is dynamic and personalised—I tailor each session to your unique needs, seamlessly integrating elements from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and diverse modalities. My ultimate aim is to cultivate a therapeutic space that is warm, non-judgmental, and deeply empathetic, allowing you the freedom to explore and flourish on your path to personal growth.
My specialised focus lies in providing empathetic support to individuals navigating past traumas, encompassing areas such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, low self-esteem, self-injury and grief. Through a compassionate and tailored approach, I work collaboratively with you to foster greater self-awareness, enhance emotional resilience, and cultivate a sense of inner peace. Your journey towards healing and self-discovery is at the forefront of our work together.
As a dedicated member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), I uphold their rigorous ethical standards, ensuring safe, professional, and client-centred practice at all times. This commitment ensures the highest standards of professionalism and best practices in our therapeutic engagement. Regular supervision is a priority in my ongoing growth and well-being, always conducted with utmost confidentiality. Rest assured, I adhere to GDPR and stringent confidentiality policies, prioritising your privacy and trust.
